 Achieve Your Goals

The new year is an inspiring time to set new goals. Here are some tips to help your resolutions stick:

Choose a goal that's meaningful, realistic and specific. Resolutions such as "eat healthier" are too vague, but something like "eat fish at least once a week" gives you something concrete to do, and is simply one step on the path to a nutritious diet, rather than a complete overhaul of your habits.

Write down your resolutions. Studies show that people who write down their goals -at any time of the year -are more likely to achieve them. Additionally, tracking your activity in a journal or mobile app can help you stay motivated.

Have fun! Creating a vision board with words and images that represent your dreams can give you energy to get going on your goals. As you work toward keeping your resolutions, don't be too hard on yourself if you slip. And after a streak of positive behavior, find a small way to reward yourself for a job well done.

Homemade Bath Salts

Relaxing in a tub of bath salts can ease sore muscles and help you unwind. This recipe is also ideal for soaking your feet at the end of a long day.

Each ingredient has unique benefits.

Epsom salts are an excellent source of magnesium, which has been shown to relieve aches and reduce inflammation. Sea salt contains minerals such as potassium, iron and zinc, which

soothe skin and muscles. Baking soda can relieve itchiness and make your skin feel super soft, and essential oils have various benefits, depending on the scent.

•          1 cup Epsom salts

•          1/2 cup sea salt

•          1/2 cup baking soda

•          Essential oil of your choice, optional

In a large bowl, mix the Epsom salts, sea salt and baking soda. If using an essential oil, add 5 to 10 drops and stir well. If you need ideas, lavender is a popular relaxing oil, citrus oils provide a burst of energy, and the scent of eucalyptus oil can help

clear sinuses.

Store the bath salts in an airtight container. Use 1/2 cup of salts per bath, or 1 to 2 tablespoons for a foot soak.
