REAC Inspection Notice

HUD REAC Inspections will be conducted Monday, May 8th, 2023.

Ripley Housing Authority apartments will be inspected on this day.
Units will be randomly selected by the inspector the day of the inspection.

What must you do to prepare?

  1. Your apartment must be clean and free of any garbage.
  2. Every room must be easily accessible and free of debris.
  3. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors must be in working order - Residents will be charged a $50 tamper fee for each inoperable detector as outlined in your lease.
  4. Breaker boxes and hot water heaters must have clear/easy access.
  5. Front porch and yards must be free of trash and stored items.
  6. Work Order items must be called in to the office prior to the inspection date to give us time to fix problems before inspection.
  7. Authorized pets must be contained in proper pet carriers.
  8. Front doors, back doors, and all windows must be free of anything blocking it (including furniture, piles of clothes, garbage, cleaning supplies, etc.).
  9. No extension cords, cable or telephone lines will be permitted to run across hallways, rooms, or walkways.
  10. All light fixtures must be in working order. Burned out bulbs must be replaced before inspection.
  11. All window seals must be cleared of any and all objects.

Failure to comply with these and other lease items may result in penalties and maintenance fees.
